A Letter to Gov. Scott Walker

Posted on 04 March 2011 by ThankYouSoMuch

A Letter to Gov. Scott Walker: Unless you are living under a rock, you probably know what Scott is up to in WI. He’s trying to break the unions down to further his Republican agenda. I’m not a Republican nor am I a Democrat, I just hate it when elected officials act on behalf of billionaires instead of helping out the people they were elected to represent.

The Reason: She pretty much sums it up nicely here:

Keep enforcing that dogmatic two-party system guys. It’s really working out well for everyone.

I wish I knew some billionaires, I want to play too…

Both parties are just the same. That’s why the Democrats fought to raise taxes and fix our nations problems, and the Republicans insisted that we should implement more of the policies that brought us to our knees. That’s why the Republicans are fighting to end collective bargaining, and the Democrats are doing everything in their power to block them. That’s why there’s a constant battle to preserve public support programs, because both parties are the same. Gods, how sophomoric can you get?

First, I wanted to thank you for being the first comment I have gotten on here that wasn’t spam. I would almost rather hear the opinions of people who disagree with my views over people who agree. It makes for a far more interesting conversation, especially when people prove my points for me. I’m not sure where you got the impression that I said or even thought that the two parties have the same ideology behind them. They are both obviously trying to achieve two different things. The issue that I have is the dogma that comes along with aligning yourself inside the two party system. The main thought being that if you don’t like the ideas of one party, you are silently approving the ideas of the other. Your comment seems to illustrate that pretty well. Yes, Scott Walker is an idiot. Unions could be one off the most important things in the labor force. I support them entirely. This letter is obviously slanted against Republicans and the billionaires that fund them. Maybe you stopped processing the information when I used the term “dogmatic two-party system”? I hope not, as only a “sophomoric” zealot would play that into my hands that well. To be able to say that BOTH parties are devoid of horrible ideas shows a very selective thought process on your part. If you were trying to be ironic though, you have a brilliant way about you and you could be my hero. I’m telling people to think for themselves. That is it. I hope to hear back from you though as I think we agree entirely on the issue of collective bargaining rights, which is what the letter was about. Again, thank you for commenting. – Dave
